About the Department
The Department of English (B.A English Literature) was started in the year 2010. It has PG Course (M.A English Literature) from the year 2013.
Sanctioned strength of UG-60 & PG-40. Qualification for first year UG, candidates should have finished Higher Secondary Examinations and for PG, students should have finished B.A. English Literature.
Add-on courses like spoken and communicative English courses are conducted to improve the students knowledge of English Language and fluency. PG students study Medical Transcription. They learn medical terms and become Medical Transcriptionist.
Department seminar is conducted regularly with PPT presentation to develop the performance of the students and lead them towards research motivation. Students interest in literature is grown by showing them films on different drames and novels in literature. Literary club brings out individual talent of students through drama, Mime and dance etc. Students of English Literature can look for work in number of different Industries, where the English communication needed, Education field (schools and colleges), Journalism and Public relations. According to the preference of Job, additional education or a teaching certificate is required.
